Kitchen Swaps

Overproduction of waste in our society is a huge issue that we face in regards to our environment. To aid in fighting our current trash issues there are plenty of swaps that you can make. In this article, I’m going to highlight just a few easy ones; many of which you might already use. Opt for reusable lunch boxes instead of disposable bags Use reusable containers instead of ziplock bags Beeswax wraps make a great replacement for cling wrap (consciousbychloe.com has a great article on how to make this if you are interested in making your own) Tiffins are great for bringing food with you (they do the same thing as containers, but are better honestly, though almost anything is better than plastic) Reusable kitchenware (plates, cups, utensils, etc…) instead of disposable (I feel like this is very obvious, but I felt the need to say it) Like I said, most of these are really basic, and you probably already do most, if not all, of them, but they are a few idea...

Small Things

I personally am I big proponent of doing small things to help reduce your carbon footprint and help our environment. I know this won’t solve everything, but in our environment’s current state, every little bit helps. I also know that trying to figure out things to do can be daunting for some people, which is why I wanted to compile this list of some of the small things that someone (even a teenager) could do to help the environment. Recycle (duh!)  Compost (anything that you can keep out of landfills helps) Use reusable lunch containers (once again, anything to keep things out of landfills) Use reusable bags (instead of plastic, paper or ziplock bags) Buy a reusable straw (paper ones may break down better, but you are cutting down trees for them) Take the bus/public transportation (driving your own car isn’t that great for the environment, so taking the bus whenever you can help, such as taking the school bus to school instead of driving) Don’t...
