Kitchen Swaps

Overproduction of waste in our society is a huge issue that we face in regards to our environment. To aid in fighting our current trash issues there are plenty of swaps that you can make. In this article, I’m going to highlight just a few easy ones; many of which you might already use.

  1. Opt for reusable lunch boxes instead of disposable bags
  1. Use reusable containers instead of ziplock bags
  2. Beeswax wraps make a great replacement for cling wrap (consciousbychloe.com has a great article on how to make this if you are interested in making your own)
  3. Tiffins are great for bringing food with you (they do the same thing as containers, but are better honestly, though almost anything is better than plastic)
  1. Reusable kitchenware (plates, cups, utensils, etc…) instead of disposable (I feel like this is very obvious, but I felt the need to say it)

Like I said, most of these are really basic, and you probably already do most, if not all, of them, but they are a few ideas that can reduce your overall carbon footprint and the amount of waste that you create.
